The downside is that many classic menu items are high in calories, fat and sodium. The next time you’re craving takeout, make our Chicken Teriyaki with Rice Noodles instead. This satisfying dish is a far healthier option that’s ready in the time it takes to order and pick up a takeout meal.

Rice Noodles

Make rice noodles the foundation of your next healthier take-out meal at home. Thai Kitchen® Stir Fry and Thin Rice Noodles are made from the highest quality rice by the traditional process of steam cooking and slowly drying. They have a mild flavor and a texture that’s slightly chewier than pasta. Serve them hot in our Chicken Teriyaki with Rice Noodles recipe, or chilled in a rice noodle salad. Or use them to replace spaghetti or angel hair in Italian pasta recipes. Rice noodles are wheat, gluten and egg free and a great option for individuals with these food allergies.

Coconut Milk

Rich and creamy coconut milk is made by simmering freshly-shredded coconut in water and then straining it to remove excess liquid. Truly authentic Thai Kitchen® Coconut milk is produced in Thailand and is a staple ingredient in Thai curries, peanut satay, sauces and stews. It also infuses drinks and desserts with a slightly sweet and subtle coconut flavor. Try it as a non-dairy alternative to milk or cream too. Coconut milk occasionally separates when sitting. Just before opening, shake the can to re-combine it. For a lower calorie option, try their Lite Coconut Milk that contains 60 percent fewer calories and less fat.

Aromatic Rice

Add exotic flair to main and side dishes in minutes with new Uncle Ben’s® Premium Specialty Rice. Long-grain, fine-textured aromatic Basmati Rice infuses dishes with the essence of India, while the sticky texture and distinct aroma of Jasmine Rice transports you to Southeast Asia. Both varieties complement a wide variety of recipes and cook to perfection in just 10 minutes. Try cooking rice in reduced-sodium broth or stock, light coconut milk or jasmine tea for an added flavor boost.

Sesame Oil

Sesame oil is a mainstay in traditional Asian recipes. It doubles as an oil for seasoning dishes and its high smoke point makes it suitable for cooking at high temperatures. Pressed from toasted sesame seeds, Asian Gourmet® Imported Sesame Oil adds a bold, nutty flavor and intense aroma to stir fry, noodle bowls, dressings, marinades and more. It also supplies healthful mono- and polyunsaturated fats and is low in saturated fat. For best results, store sesame oil in a cool, dark place.

Teriyaki Sauce

Soy Vay® Veri Veri Teriyaki Sauce has a “flavor so nice, they named it twice”! The unique blend of garlic, ginger, toasted sesame seeds and soy sauce gives this sauce unbeatable flavor. Adding savory and sweet flavor to Asian-inspired recipes is only one use for this sauce. Try it as a marinade for chicken, steak or pork, a glaze for salmon or meatballs or a dressing for salads and slaw. You’ll find Veri Veri Teriyaki Sauce in our condiments aisle.
